Holiday gifting!

I like to say I like giving more than receiving, but then who’d believe me  😉 ? The DIY bug, however, has put me a very giving mood I must say. And gifting something that you’ve put effort into can be very satisfying. So I gift wrapped some cookies I’d made.  Actually, you don’t even have to bake the cookies. Buy ’em, dress ’em up right and you’re good to go gifting!

I’m editing this to make it the weekend wrap up link party happening on Patty’s lovely blog Colors Dekor! I just read about it now and she’s asked to post anything fun that we’ve done over the weekend. And here’s mine! It’s a wrap!

The ideas are from an old edition of Cuisine at Home magazine. But it just goes to show, old doesn’t mean it’s outdated! Use ribbons, jars (glass or plastic), glasses. (Don’t throw away those salsa, dip and pickle jars! This is a great way to recycle). Some cellophane paper in any color you like, handmade paper, glue, felt pens and parchment or butter paper.

wrapped

Cut the butter paper into squares a little smaller than the size of the cookies. Stack the cookies on top of each other with the paper separating each cookie. This ensures they don’t stick. Then just wrap ribbon around the stack and make bows.

jarsSlide the cookie stacks into the jar or glass. Seal the jar with the lid or seal the glass with a piece of color paper. I’ve used salsa jars and made little From notes out of handmade paper and glued them to the lids.

in cellophane

Use a lovely bowl and cellophane paper to wrap those yummies. Tie a ribbon to seal. The bowls can make great gifts too!
