Hey, thanks for sharing this super delicious and totally yummmmm looking cake…you see am running out of adjectives …phew!” – Anu

Basic recipe (excepting for some small touches) from www.indobase.com.

Ingredients:

  • 225 gms Maida (all-purpose flour)
  • 400 gms Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2-3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Cooking Soda
  • 125 gms Butter
  • 200 ml Aerated Cola Drink
  • A pinch of salt
  • 125gms Dairy Milk Chocolate
  • 250 gms Fresh Whipped Cream
  • Fruits (candied or preserved for a day or two in suagr syrup)

How to make the cake:

  1. Place a thick bottomed pan on very low flame and melt butter in it.
  2. Remove from the flame and let the butter cool.
  3. Add condensed milk and mix well.
  4. Sift maida, cocoa powder, baking powder, cooking soda and salt together. Make sure there are no lumps in the mixture.
  5. Grease a baking tray with little butter.
  6. Dust it with maida and keep it aside.
  7. Take a pan with little butter and put the maida mixture with the condensed milk-butter mixture.
  8. Now add aerated cola and mix it well.
  9. Pour the batter into the greased baking tray and bake for 30 minutes at 175 degrees C
  10. When it is done, let it cool and then slit it horizontally into two. (I got 4 slabs in all)
  11. Whip the cream till light and fluffy. Add to that the candied or syrup-soaked fruit
  12. Sandwich the two layers of cake with whipped cream and fruit.
  13. For the in between layer add cocoa to the whipped cream and make out a chocalatey center.
  14. Melt a small bar of chocolate and drizzle on top of the cake.
  15. Grate dairy milk chocolate bar and sprinkle over the cake.
  16. Serve it chilled.

I make this often, i add 4 table spoons of hot chocolate/ drinking chocolate along with cocoa powder to make it more chocolatey…
Variant – instead of condensed milk add a tin of caramel (its called caramel topping here) for this u can eliminate cocoa and drinking chocolate – gives you a very nice caramel cake..
