A thing of utility can also be a thing of beauty. And sit anywhere in your home, not just the kitchen counter… enter Aarohi Singh who’s brought all of India into the kitchen. Meeting Aarohi is like experiencing the fun and vibrancy of India first hand, face to face!
Bump into art on utensils and mugs, baltis and pyalas. If you thought not, just take one look at her range to be converted forever. And if you’re about to chuck your old utensils and thalis, don’t! Take a look here first. There’s Bengaluru and Dilli on kettles, item bombs on tables, sadhu-sanths and lotus flowers on buckets, flowers on kadais, ganeshas on thalis, and roosters on coasters in such colourful splendour, that they’re truly Indian kitsch.
And kitsch is here to stay. For a generation that’s grown up on Horn OK Please, A/C No Hand Signal, and mirchi-nimbu, raakshash on doors to ward off evil spirits, kitsch is in your psyche so deep that it gets a welcome reception where ever you see it. And seeing it in the context of your home adds an excitement that’s quite fresh!
Aarohi is an Information Architect who started experimenting with art on different media a few years ago. It soon turned it into a passion that gets its inspiration from all the things Aarohi senses around her in a chaotic India that runs high on drama and emotions. She paints in water colours, chalk pastels, oils and acrylics. On wood, ceramics, metal, walls. In fact, her repertoire is quite unlimited! See her entire range of work HERE.
Without more talk, here is some more of her work. Turning utilitarian kitchen products into bright art. Such a breeze for this talented artist!
Aarohi also does custom pieces. If you want a story told or an anecdote painted for posterity, ask and if she sees it’s feasible, you got it. She goes into great detail over her custom pieces. The paintings contain details about the people she is painting for, their relationships with people and objects, their loves and hates, and humorous incidents, so each piece is truly custom made.
The work is available directly from the artist. Contact her at aarohi @ artbyaarohi . com

Love these!
Great stuff! I was wondering if she would custom paint some beer mugs?
Thanks Sudha.
And Harini, would love to do beer mugs. Do you already have something you want painted? Glass is a bit of a pain to paint-the glass paints don’t really give that rich colour. Or ar you open to some custom surfaces?
And thanks to you too
Totally open to custom surfaces…and will share theme I hv in mind
How creative! The balti is lovely and the kettle is so vibrant! I really like the coffee table too.
Love all of them! The coffee table is the best!
The kettle is a cutie…I am loving the kadai…can you actually cook in it? With our oil and masala and stuff??
Hey Vaishnavi – not so sure about using the kadai to cook! You can check with Aarohi though
